ABOUT ME

Running Track

How it began

I never saw myself as an athlete growing up. I could barely kick a soccer ball and failed childhood swim lessons!  Discovering my talent for running was a complete shock, and once I hit the track, I never looked back.

Running helped me to find my "people" - I love training, pushing myself and exceeding my own expectations, and I had so much fun with my like-minded teammates who became my best friends. I was hooked!

Life in the fast lane

After university graduation, I felt I had untapped potential and chose to continue training seriously while pursuing a Master's degree in Sport Science. This was as great decision - my running really took off!

I spent the next seven years on the Canadian Senior national team specializing in the 5000m, travelling the world to train and race. It was an absolute dream come true.

Between podium performances and personal bests, I learned heaps about performance under pressure, time management, resilience through injury, and the importance of a patient, balanced, long term-approach to training.

I bring all these experiences to my coaching practice and love passing forward my earned knowledge.

Beyond the track - education and coaching

I've always been "nerdy" about my training.  As a CSEP-CEP (Clinical Exercise Physiologist) with a High-Performance specialization, I hold the highest level of sports science certification available in Canada. I also hold NCCP Performance Coach certification for endurance events.

Over the last 8 years I've helped over 400 individuals reach their running goals on the roads and trails. In the process, I've learned that I love working with motivated runners at any level- each athlete is an incredibly rewarding project.

I also serve as the distance track and cross country coach at the University of Calgary. It's fun working with young athletes with big dreams!

I'd love to help you help you fast forward your running. Check out my coaching options!
